ALL WEEK | Mary Fehr Photo Exhibit at Pepper Place: The Magic Ingredient

The Main Ingredient, a photography exhibition by Birmingham-based photographer Mary Fehr, celebrates the people who bring our city’s culinary scene to life. Known for her passion for documenting The Magic City in its best light, Mary turns her lens beyond the plate to the chefs, owners, and staff whose talent, hard work, and hospitality shape the way our city eats.

Featuring familiar faces from beloved Birmingham restaurants including Bottega, Hot and Hot Fish Club, Ovenbird, The Essential, Bayonet, Salud, and more, The Main Ingredient offers an intimate look at the personalities behind the places we know and love. Installed throughout the hallways of The Studios Building at Pepper Place, the collection is a love letter to Birmingham’s culinary community and a fitting companion to ten days spent celebrating its food and culture.

Guests are invited to stroll the halls throughout the festival and experience Mary’s perspective on the creativity, character, and connections that make Birmingham’s food community so special.
