ALL WEEK | Frank's Table by Arden Upton Pop Up Art Show
When: Friday, September 19 - Saturday, Sept 27
Where: The Studios Building at Pepper Place, 2829 2nd Ave S
Southbound is proud to present Frank’s Table, an inspired new collection of photographs and paintings by Birmingham-based artist Arden Upton. Born out of an intimate cooking session with legendary Chef Frank Stitt, the series celebrates the beauty, craft, and creativity behind his culinary masterpieces.
From the signature “Orange Thing” martini to his famous lemon tarts, Upton’s works spotlight Stitt’s dishes as works of art in their own right—capturing the color, rhythm, and storytelling that live at the heart of fine food. Installed throughout the hallways of The Studios Building at Pepper Place and paired with portraits from Know Thy Farmer, the exhibition is a tribute to the growers, makers, and visionaries who bring food from farm to table.
Guests are invited to explore the exhibition throughout the ten-day festival and take part in a special drawing for Upton’s original painting, Lemon Tart. Proceeds will benefit Magic City Harvest, a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating food insecurity and reducing food waste through advocacy, education, and community collaboration. Special thanks to Pepper Place and The Farmers Market at Pepper Place for their generous support and installation.
